Andy: vocals

Recorded on February 14, 1986 in Cranbury Road Studios, London, England.

These are the most experimental songs of the 4 CD collection from Andy's half-year living in London in 1986. On "the otto mice empire", Andy makes a strange effect by recording himself saying the lyrics backwards on tape running backwards. Some snippets of isolated vocal tracks show how this was done, in "otto backwards snippet", "otto forwards snippet", and "skob keerf killi duck ice" (psychedelic freakbox).

Andy makes all sounds except: Paul plays guitar on "me and paul" and adds vocals to "asteroid wings"; and Jessica adds vocals to "peace, love, and happiness" and "psychedelic freakbox". Recorded to Paul's Yamaha MT-44 4-track cassette deck.

Overview:
There are cassette tapes by "The Andy Band" dating back to 1979, when Andy was 14 years old, and he is still an avid recording musician. Sometimes The Andy Band is all about "hit record and go" improvisation, other times it's all about one-man-band multi-tracking in the studio. Since 2010, Andy has been playing some of these songs live near his new home in Vermont at open mics. He relishes the thrill of improvising with an audience, as well as singing three-part harmonies and playing bass with players there. But he also loves building up a song with layers and layers of Andys, singing and playing everything.
